Upcoming workshops

Check out the newest classes I will be teaching with Omnilargess Services!

We have heard your questions about editing, and your requests for classes. Now we have a solution! Our newest selection of workshops cover all your editing needs in separate, easy-to-digest sessions on individual topics.

Levels in Photoshop

See how levels can save you time!

Never used an editing program before and need somewhere to start? Try our Intro to Layers (I.C.E.) workshop. Understanding how layers work will unlock a multitude of possibilities with any type of image.

Class sizes are kept small for these popular courses.

Know the basics, but want something geared more towards the type of images you shoot? Try our Power Portraits (F.I.R.E.) or Fired Up Landscapes (F.I.R.E.) workshops. These will add on to your knowledge of image editing, give you all the tools you need to excel in your particular image type, as well as provide a few tips to give you that extra edge.

Just want to be able to make any image look great? Have a go at our All About Layers track. You can pick and choose the individual workshops that interest you, or you can save a little and do all 4 in a complete package.

Not interested in the image editing aspect, but want to create some spectacular album layouts, scrapbook type pages, or greeting cards? Our Custom Page Creation class is for you.

With all of these workshops now available, you can choose to learn at a pace that you are comfortable with, in a face-to-face setting so that we can ensure all your questions are answered. If there is something you are looking to learn with regards to editing, but you don’t see it here, please send us an email and we will do our best to provide a solution for you. Happy editing!

Enter the New Year!

Now that the craziness of Christmas is over and a New Year has started, it is time for me to get back to work! I am busily finishing up a few editing jobs, as well as some personal photos taken over the holidays. My grandmother’s 90th birthday was celebrated over the New Year’s weekend, and it was a photo opportunity that I doubt I will ever have again unless she lives to be 100!

A nd how many other kids can say they know their Great-Grandmother who is still well enough to chat with them and get to know them well?

Help-Portrait ® Abbotsford 2011 = Success

Finally, I can breath again! After a few months of furious planning, hundreds of texts and emails, and several phone calls…Help-Portrait day arrived with a bang. Thanks does not even begin to cover my gratefulness for the roughly 100 volunteers who sacrificed their time, sleep, equipment, and probably a little sanity to help make this day successful. We managed to photograph about 350 people from all walks of life. Though our day did not go off without a hitch (we had major problems with our printers) I am still very happy with the experience that we were able to give to our guests, as well as with the experiences that we all walked away with. It was a great day of networking, joking, and connecting with others as we worked together to serve our community. I am already making plans in my head for things that I want to change or incorporate again for next year! There are still a few little loose ends to tie up, as well as a little wrap up party that will allow us all to meet those we didn’t get to chat with in the busyness of the day, but all in all, we are done for this year. I am so proud to see how much regular people can impact a community! Soon to come – a few behind the scenes photographs from our day!

Tips for Printing odd sized images

Head on over to the Omnilargess blog to see the tutorial I wrote on printing images that are not a standard size (ie square or panorama).  This is a common question that I encounter in my classes, so I thought I would address it in a more open forum. Please let me know if it was helpful or not. If you like it, you may want to try the Basic Editing workshop that I am teaching that will give you a great start in whichever editing program you happen to be using. Newcomers to editing and to digital photography welcome! Even if you are fairly comfortable with your editing skills, stay tuned for our advanced workshop which will take you to the next level with your images.

New Website!

Welcome to my brand new website! Please be patient with me as I adjust and add to it. I am not a web designer, but I have spent painstaking hours trying to do this myself anyway. Now that it is reasonably workable, I have to return to my hours of fun-filled editing!!! I have now included a section for my doula services as well as a section for my workshops and classes. Stay tuned for more regular blog posts and links to my posts for the Omnilargess team as well.
